The Founder’s Award Luncheon brings together community-minded Texans who share the common belief that every child deserves to live in a safe environment, have an enriching early education, and have access to the health coverage and care they need.
This annual event is the place to be to mix and mingle with child welfare advocates, business and healthcare leaders, policymakers, and early education experts who believe in the power of policy change to make children’s lives better now and into the future.

Champion for Early Childhood Success
Dr. Robert DeHaas, Ed.D is an innovative leader committed to strengthening the state’s early learning workforce and ensuring more young learners thrive. An educator at heart, Rob has served as a teacher, school leader, non-profit leader, and higher education Founding Dean. In his current role as the inaugural Vice Provost for the Dallas College School of Education, he leads the School of Education and launched the state’s first four-year bachelor’s degree program in early childhood education.
Evelyn Delgado
CEO | Healthy Futures of Texas
Champion for healthy moms and babies
Evelyn Delgado is a passionate leader dedicated to ensuring Texas women have the support they need for healthy pregnancies, healthy babies, and healthy lives. Previously a senior executive at the Texas Department of State Health Services, she is currently CEO of Healthy Futures of Texas — which aims to improve the development of strong families through equitable access to sexual health education, preventive healthcare, contraception, and resources — and serves as Chair of the Texas Women’s Healthcare Coalition.
